On December 25, 2022, the 7th Israeli-Korean Studies Workshop was held at the Dangoor Centre, Faculty of Humanities, Bar-Ilan University. With the participation of a representative of the S. Korea Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yohan PARK, 3rd secretary and the Cultural Attaché in Israel, Embassy of the Republic of Korea. The workshop aim to create an academic community for Israeli and Korean scholars and graduate students who gather in a study workshop to share their research. “It enables the students to present their work at early and advanced stages and receive feedback and support from scholars and collogues, to improve their research and prepare them for academic presentations abroad,” explain Dr. Alon Levkovitz, from the Asian Studies Program BIU, who initiated and lead the workshop.

In the seven years since the first workshop, it has become a major focus of interest for Korean Studies scholars studying at all Israeli universities. The workshop was made possible due to the ongoing support of the Dangoor Centre, the Academy of Korean Studies and the Korean Embassy in Israel. The participants expressed their enthusiasm for the eight workshop to be held next year at Bar-Ilan University, and expressed satisfaction with the workshop results.
